Tracy Dean O’Brian of Beggs passed from this life at the age of 59 on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Hillcrest Medical Center surrounded by his family. After a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer, he is now without pain in the arms of Jesus.
Tracy was born May 1, 1963, in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Buddy and Gloria O’Brian. He attended Charles Page High School in Sand Springs and more recently was employed by TDS Telecom for 22 years until his illness forced him to go on long-term disability.
Tracy loyally and honorably served his country and the State of Oklahoma in the U.S. Air Force/Oklahoma Air National Guard, serving in Qatar and Iraq in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In his spare time, Tracy enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on/building classic muscle cars, shooting/marksmanship, and spending time with his family.
Tracy had a beautiful heart and spirit that he tried to disguise under a rough and tough exterior.
Tracy is survived by Stacey, his wife of 35 years; Son, Holden Zumwalt (18); Son, Samuel O’Brian (34) and his wife, Kayla. Grandchildren, Thomas Dean O’Brian (2), Mylee Gene O’Brian (11) and Madyson Nicole Smith (13). Parents, Buddy Wayne and Gloria Dean O’Brian of Prattville; Father- and Mother-in-Law Mark and Margaret Zumwalt of Sapulpa; Brother, Danny O’Brian and his wife, Betty of Sand Springs and their daughters Holly and Brenda and their husbands as well as great nieces/nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be Monday, May 1 11:00a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma with Brett Land officiating. Graveside Memorial Veterans Service will be immediately following at Green Hill Cemetery in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Family visitation will be Saturday, April 29th from 3-5pm at Smith Funeral Home.
Friends, family, and acquaintances are encouraged to join the family following the service for a time of casual conversation, food, music, and a celebration of Tracy’s life. This will be held at Faith Tabernacle located at 911 North 10th Street, Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
