Sharon Kay Harris

November 20, 1953 ~ February 25, 2022 (age 68)


Sharon Kay Helton Harris departed from this life at her home in Bald Hill, Okla. on Friday, February 25th, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.

Sharon was born on November 20th, 1953, in Sapulpa, Okla. to James Nathaniel Helton and Virginia Lee Wilmott Helton.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kermitt Harris. Sharon met Kermitt on June 23rd, 1969 and they were married June 27th, 1969.

Sharon leaves behind her children Kermit Nathaniel Harris of Leavenworth, Kan., Emanuel Jerome Harris of the home, and Kermitta ShaVonne Harris NoEar and husband Chris of the home; grandchildren Kortney Nichole Harris, Jaebri Evonne Tottress, Kobe Lee NoEar, and Kristina Lee Vonne NoEar; great granddaughter Eden Faith Cooper; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sharon was a dedicated member of the congregation of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Bixby, Okla. She was a devoted member of the Twin Hills Indian Community where she was active in the Muscogee language classes and the seniors’ group. When she wasn’t busy with community activities or doing one of her many other small jobs, Sharon spent much of her time catering meals for family gatherings, community functions, business meetings, and she was a constant fixture at the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Festival. Sharon was a friend to many and she will be missed by them all.

Sharon’s family will receive friends on Friday, March 4th between the hours of 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa, Okla. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 5th at the Robert L. Pinkston Activity Center in Bald Hill, Okla. Internment will follow at the Bald Hill Cemetery in Bald Hill, Okla.
