On Saturday, October 9, 2021, Reginald Dion Hardy, best known as “Speedy”, departed from this life at the age of 85. He was born on August 22, 1936 in Hominy, Oklahoma to Cecil and Neila Hardy. Speedy graduated from Kiefer High School where he played football. After school he went to work for an electrical distribution line contractor for a couple of years. He then moved on to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces for the Army. After returning home from service Speedy went to work for OG&E where he worked as distribution lineman and distribution line foreman for 33 years. Speedy married Mary Wolfe on June 9, 1962. They were happily marriage for 59 years. Speedy loved to fish, hunt and attend his grandsons’ sporting events. Speedy is survived by his wife, Mary, and one son, Tye Hardy of Sapulpa and his wife Laura, two grandsons Seth and Bryce Hardy. He is also survived by his sisters Roma Lu Cotton, Marilyne Akin and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Neila Hardy, brother Wendell Hardy, sisters Bonnie Joe Hawkins and Phyllis Bradshaw and other beloved family members.
