Mark Rodney Hare, 69, of Jenks, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on March 4th, 2023.
Mark was born August 11, 1953, in Tulsa, OK to Fred and Georgie Hare. He graduated from Winnebago High School in Winnebago, Illinois. The family moved back to Jenks and Mark attended Oral Roberts University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in business and German. He continued his education at ORU and received his Masters in Business Administration there. He was a member of SpiritLife church in Tulsa, OK. He loved listening to word of God and he loved church hymns. He was often found singing and humming his favorites. Mark was very passionate about math and investing. He started a tutoring business in Jenks that he ran out of his parent’s house. Many Jenks High School graduates can thank Mark for helping them through their math classes. Mark also prided himself on being an investor. He helped his parents manage their investments and after they passed away continued to invest in real estate. He loved visiting with his tenants and especially loved meeting their pets!
In 1996, Mark decided he was ready for a new chapter in his life. He ran a personal ad in the Tulsa World advertising himself as a willing bachelor looking for an educated Christian lady. Then a lovely woman answered his ad and his prayers. Patricia or “Patty” as he loved to call her responded to his ad and they bonded over their love of God, family and math! They married November 3rd, 1996, and Mark became the stepfather to Patricia’s two children, Beth and John.
Mark will always be remembered for his love of animals (he firmly believed that everyone’s dog should have the right to jump all over him!) And he will also be remembered as the best ride along buddy. He was always up for going out to dinner with his family or a friend, going to estate sales where he bought every Reba and Olivia Newton John album he could find or just sitting and talking to family and friends for hours on end.
Mark is survived by the love of his life Patricia, his stepdaughter Beth (Adam) Williams and stepson John Dagg and a host of other extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother Fred and Georgie Hare.
Services will be held Saturday March 11th at SpiritLife Church at 10am with a graveside service to follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Sapulpa.
Family visitation will be Friday March 10th from 5pm-8pm at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa.
