Lester “Lucky” Thomas 75, of Sand Springs went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Lucky was born January 2, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Chester and Mollie Thomas. He graduated from McClain High School. He retired from Tulsa Public Schools as a maintenance supervisor after 25 years.
Lucky faithfully served his country in the United States Army, serving a tour in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; Sharpshooter Badge and the Army Commendation Medal.
Lucky met and married the love of his life, Nancy Creamer. They recently celebrated 35 years of marriage. He was a member of Garden Heights Free Will Baptist Church.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing music with friends and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Lucky is survived by his loving wife Nancy, daughter and son in law, Robin and Darwin Cavanaugh, and daughter, Marika Roberts.
Grandchildren; Wyatt and Mollie Cavanaugh, Allen Branham, Brandin, Amie, and Mandy Roberts.
Sister and brother in Law(s) Connie and Rob Demers, Donna and Jerry Jones and a host of other family and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Chester and Mollie Thomas and his brother, Patrick Thomas.
Services will be Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 10:00 am @ Garden Heights Free Will Baptist Church in Sand Springs with Reverend Doyle Baker officiating.
Family Visitation will be Monday, August 2, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa.
The family has requested donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
