Jimmie Ray Russell

Our beloved husband, father, grandpa and brother, Jimmie Ray Russell, joined the angels in heaven on Friday, March 31, 2023.  Jimmie was born on October 1, 1943 in Sand Springs, OK. on the family homestead.  He married his high school sweetheart on August 3, 1962.  From this union they were blessed with three children:  First born son Donald, second born son Mike and third (and finally!) a daughter, Karen.  Jimmie and Kathy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August 2022. 

Two of Jimmie's favorite places to be were on the beach and riding on 4-wheeling trails.  Great memories were made with family at both of these places.  He loved the feel of the sand on his bare feet and he would always take a morning walk on the beach to watch the sunrise each day he was there.  When 4-wheeling, Jimmie would ride all day long, get home for food and rest and be ready to go the next day for more adventures.  

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Kathy Russell, son Donald and wife Barb, daughter Karen and husband Randy.  11 grandchildren:  Kamda Benton (Josh), Sarah McKibbin (Dustin), Garrett Russell, Garrett DeMoss, Danelle DeMoss, Walter Smith (Denise), Heather Schwartz (Jesse), Colton Russell, Cody Chavous, Ty Chavous and Abby Chavous. 11 great-grandchildren:  Adeline Benton, Richard Smith, Sharon Smith, Amy, Lydia, Brooklyn, Chloe, Zoey and Austin Schwartz, Carter Chavous and Charleigh Chavous. Brothers David and Gary and Sisters Ruthie, Wanda, Sharon, Annie and Martha. 

Jimmie was preceded in death by his son Mike Russell and grandson Michael S. Russell.
