Jesse William Hodge Sr., age 61 of Glenpool, Oklahoma, passed away December 26, 2020, surrounded by his family at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born March 9, 1959 in Henryetta, OK to Ned and Barbara Hodge. He attended Bixby High School where he was on the school wrestling team as well as a trumpet player in the school band. He also loved to attend the Glenpool football games and watch his nieces, Kylee & Taylor, play with the band during halftime. He worked in the packing department of Macy’s Fulfillment Center in Owasso at the time of his death.
Jesse was devoted to his family and his church. As an active member of Bible Baptist Church in Sapulpa, OK, he assisted with the Jail and Nursing Home Ministries. He had a passion for working on and restoring his 1964 Corvair. He also loved NHRA Drag Racing. In his other spare time, he loved to go fishing with his wife, Dorothy, as well as work in the garden.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hodge of Glenpool, OK, mother Barbara Hammit of Fritch, TX, son Jesse “Little Jesse” Hodge Jr. of Stillwater, OK, daughter Robin Thomas of Stillwater, OK, son Christopher George of Dallas, TX, brother Brit Hammit of Borger, TX, sister Debbie Hodge of Okmulgee, OK, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jesse was preceded in death by his father, Ned Hodge of Okmulgee, OK.
Celebration of life for Jesse will be Monday, January 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Bible Baptist Church in Sapulpa, OK; The address for the church is 513 N. Ridgeway St., Sapulpa, OK 74066.
