Obituary

On March 7th 2020 Jerry William Dickerson, loving husband, father, and Grandfather, passed away at the age of 83. He was born August 4th, 1936 in Cassville, Missouri. He graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1955. He then attended Northeastern State in Tahlequah for 2 years before going into the armed services. He returned home and received his degree in education through the GI Bill. He was a Tulsa Public School Teacher for 34 years. He began his career at Irving Elementary School where he met his loving wife to be. He also taught hundreds of children at Salk and Carnegie Elementary Schools. He is survived by his wife Kay Blanche, son Joseph (Joey) and daughter-in-law Kelly Dickerson, of Dallas, their three children, Elizabeth, William, and Katherine. who lovingly called Giddi. He is also survived by his daughter Anissa Dickerson and son-in-law, Michael Sadler, of Boston, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil W. and Beulah Dickerson, and his sister, Jill Martin. Jerry was an avid sports fan and loved the OU Sooners and Sapulpa Chieftains. He solved the problems of the world over coffee with his friends. His spirit and good humor will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held at the Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 10th 5:30-7:30pm and at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Sapulpa March 11th at 10:00am.
