James Daniel Lackey III

August 6, 1940 ~ March 11, 2022 (age 81)

James Daniel Lackey III (81) of Kiefer, OK was born August 6, 1940, and departed this world March 11, 2022. “Jimmy Dan” was a life-long resident of Kiefer and a graduate of Kiefer High School, Class of 1958. He attended Tulsa Technology College of Drafting.
Jimmy married the love of his life, Norma Lorene Norris, on February 23, 1960 at Evangelistic Tabernacle in Sapulpa, Ok. Jimmy and Norma had two children, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, all of whom he doted over and loved unconditionally.
Jimmy had a long and successful career in the oil industry, and excelled at every role he held - pumping, roustabout, welding, fitting and jig building, lease operating, and offshore platform drilling and operating in Louisiana and California. Jimmy retired from Chevron (formerly Gulf Oil Co.) in 1999.
Jimmy and Norma loved to travel with their children, exploring the States and their histories. Jimmy enjoyed woodworking as a hobby and could fix or build quite literally anything. He was always researching and thinking – whether technical, historical, or mechanical, he loved a good challenge.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Lackey; his father, James Daniel “Jay” Lackey II; his mother, Goldie Frances Lackey; his wife, Norma Lorene Lackey; and his sister, Emma Frances Boyd.
Jimmy is survived by his son, James Daniel “Danny” Lackey IV and his wife, Terrilynn of Kiefer; his daughter, Rejeanna Bowling and her husband, Bret of Kiefer; his grandchildren, Trevor Lackey and wife, Tresa of Fairview; Alaina Szlavy and her husband Tibor of Kiefer; Ty Bowling and his wife, Madelina of Kiefer; Ashley Naifeh and her husband, Corey of Tulsa; and Garret Bowling of Kiefer; his great-grandchildren Evan Szlavy, Caden Bowling, Emmy Wooderson, Ellery Naifeh, Dash Naifeh, Chloe Szlavy, and Ophelia Naifeh; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
