James Donald Cain, 92, of Sapulpa passed away from this life on Friday, April 17, 2020 at The Gardens Health Care Facility in Sapulpa. He was born on April 10, 1928 in Burlington, Kansas to James Fred and Alice B. Cain. During WWII, he served in the United States Navy from 1945-1946 as Fireman First Class, then was inactive Reserve until 1958. He has resided in Sapulpa since 1955, with a 5 year time period from 1963-68 when he and wife, Pat, served as missionaries in Burundi, Africa, with the Friends Church. He later became a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, joined the Knights of Columbus, and served as a Minister of Holy Communion from 2008-2010. He retired from Unit Rig and Equipment Co. where he worked as a machinist. He loved family activities, bowling, working with his hands and being in the great out-of-doors.
He is survived by one brother, Max Cain, of Wichita, Kansas; daughter Donna McFarland and husband, Hiram of Stilwell, OK; son, James Cain and wife, Edna of Sapulpa, OK; and daughter Moira Hathcock and husband, Kenneth of Sapulpa, OK; 5 grandchildren Alanna Cooper, Bryce McFarland, William Cain, Andrew Cain, Abby Pieratt; and 7 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Josiah, Jocelyn, Johanna, Max, Penelope and Lexie.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann, his parents, Fred and Alice Cain, and brothers, Paul and Gene Cain.

Graveside service will be on April 23rd at 2:00 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas.
