Obituary

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 28, at 2 pm at Green Hill Cemetery in Sapulpa, OK

Geneva Marie Pope passed from this life November 21st. She was 89.

Geneva grew up around the Eufaula area. She graduated high school, went on to cosmetology school and was a beautician there in Eufaula for several years.

Geneva was very close to her sister Jean. She visited Jean in Sapulpa and decided to take up residence. She then went on to work at Security National Bank here in Sapulpa. This is where she met the love of her life, Guy Pope, who frequented the bank often. They were happily married for 17 years before Geneva lost her beloved Guy on June 1, 1984.

Later on, Geneva decided to make a career change, went to work at Walmart in 1979 and retired several years later. While working there throughout the years, she developed some great friendships. Debbie House, Lynnette Thomas and Vickie Oldham were just a few, and they all loved her dearly.

Anyone who knew Geneva knew her awesome Schnauzer Duke was her baby. He was named after her favorite actor, John Wayne. She collected and watched every movie he made. Geneva also loved a variety of music, and her favorite singer was none other than Elvis Presley. Geneva was a member of Pricket Prairie Church in Sapulpa.

Geneva was proceeded in death by her loving husband Guy, Father JC Thomason, Mother Vesta Thomason, Sister Jean Williams, Brothers James, Leo and Luther Thomason. She leaves behind her niece, Kathy Kruz and her favorite little Morkie fur baby, Petey.

Graveside services will be Monday, November 28th at 2:00 at Green Hills Cemetery in Sapulpa.
