Billy Ray Smith 86, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma was born on September 6th, 1936, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Bill passed from life at home peacefully on March 13th, 2023.
In school, he was taught by his parents, Otis G Smith, and Clara Mae Smith. At the age of 16, upon graduation from Shawnee High School, he continued his education at OBU and OSU. He enlisted and served in the United States Army Corp at Ft. Polk, Louisiana from 1958 until 1960.
He met Chrystal Iva Spears in Bristow, Oklahoma and they were married on August 1st in 1963, in Nowata, Oklahoma.
Billy Ray worked at Fibercast in Sand Springs, as a fabricator and the manager for 20 years. Then, he started BC Plastics where he was self-employed until closing the shop and then shortly retired.
He was a member of the Kellyville Water Board. He attended Kellyville Methodist Church and enjoyed visiting with family and friends and being outside working in his garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Clara Smith, his wife Chrystal Smith, son Terry Smith and sister Jo Dockrey.
He is survived by his sons Kenneth Smith and wife carol, Chuck smith, Jerry smith, Howard Smith and wife Tonya, Eddie Joe Smith and Barbie and daughter in-law Kim Smith. Grandchildren; Brian, David, Nancy, Amy, Darrell, Blake, Shawn, Dillon, Brandi, Jenifer, Brittany, Bradley, Jason, Buddy Joe and Judson, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
