Violet Lee (Matlock) Banks

Violet L. Banks, 91, of Kellyville OK, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 7 at the Ranch Terrace Nursing Home in Sapulpa. Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday September 10, 2011, at the First Baptist Church, 306 E Camden, Kellyville, OK. Officiating will be the Pastor Robby Gaches. Viewing will be from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday September 9, 2011 at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa. Bearers will be Lewis Banks, Daryl Banks, Olen Banks, Curtis Banks, Randall Banks, and Dan Banks. Interment will be at Sunrise Cemetery following the services. Violet was born March 6, 1920, in Boone County, Arkansas. She has been a resident of the Creek County area for most of her life. She was a home-maker during the years her sons were growing up, and then worked for Bartlett Collins Hospital before retiring in 1985. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Banks, parents, Rebecca and Riley Matlock, brother Herbert Matlock, sisters Roxy Feeback, Ava Hellard, Vada Andrews, and Lola Gellar. She is survived by her sons Lewis (Kathryn), Daryl (Sue), Olen, Curtis (Cheryl), Randall (Libby), Dan, brother Troy Matlock, and sister Pauline White. She also has many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved and cherished. Violet was an active member of the Sunrise Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK.
